California Ovarian Cancer Awareness Program (COCAP)

Welcome to our website!  The California Department of Public Health's Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP), in collaboration with the California Dialogue on Cancer, administers the California Ovarian Cancer Awareness Program (COCAP). 

 COCAP is an ovarian cancer awareness program targeting women and health care providers in California. The goals of the program are to promote education around the symptoms of ovarian cancer and increase early diagnosis and improved treatment methods in order to reduce mortality from ovarian cancer.

Program News + Updates:

* Congratulations to FY11-12 Mini-Grant Awardees!  See the six project summaries on the Mini-Grant Program page.   
 
* Five community speakers in California are available to conduct free presentations on ovarian cancer and clinical trials.  Presentations address: the impact of ovarian cancer; what cancer clinical trials are; myths and misconceptions; risks and benefits; and resources.  Speakers completed the 10-hour Clinical Trials Training Program hosted by the California Ovarian Cancer Awareness Program in partnership with the Education Network to Advance Cancer Clinical Trials (ENACCT).  If you would like to invite a speaker to conduct a presentation in your community, please contact: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
