Project Summary: WCAG will conduct a community outreach program (Hope, Health, and Awareness) targeting groups of professionals that are in personal contact with women on a daily basis (e.g. hairstylists and nurses). The program will include educational forums that will focus on symptom recognition and include ovarian cancer survivors and sharing their experiences. Participants in the program will be given educational materials to distribute to their clients, customers, or patients. In addition, a billboard will be displayed informing the public about the educational forums and the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

Hope, Health & Awareness Program
The Women’s Cancer Awareness Group provides a free outreach program to women in our community.
Please join us for one of our upcoming programs, which will be held on the following dates in the Theater District Community Room in Petaluma:
- Tuesday March 10th: 6:00 to 8:00 pm
- Tuesday April 14th: 6:00 to 8:00 pm
- Tuesday May 19th: 7:00 to 9:00 am
- Tuesday June 16th: 11:00 to 1:00 pm

What to expect:
- You will be welcomed and invited to have some light refreshments.
- Two cancer survivors will share their stories of hope with a focus on symptoms of ovarian cancer.
- You will receive information about how to find out about your cancer risk and what you can do to reduce it.
- We will show you a ten-minute DVD about Women’s Cancer Awareness Group programs and mission, featuring a special message from Pamela Torliatt, Mayor of Petaluma.
- We will ask you if you would like to take some information with you to share with your friends.
- The entire program takes a little over an hour. Lovely light refreshments from Preferred Sonoma Caterer’s will be served. Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations are greatly appreciated. For more information or to make a reservation, please call us at 707-481-5640.
