CDOC - A Brief History
Since the inception of CCC efforts in California, the action agenda has included convening a CCC Steering Committee representative of California’s diverse population in June 2002, conducting an assessment of the gaps that currently exist in California’s cancer prevention and control efforts, convening a meeting of over 250 California CCCP stakeholders in March 2003, and developing California’s CCC Plan, which was completed in April 2004.
California began its CCC implementation phase by establishing the California Dialogue on Cancer (CDOC) in 2004. CDOC currently is comprised of four implementation teams and an Executive Committee which includes a Chair, two Vice-Chairs, the implementation teams co- chairs, and four members at-large. A CDOC stakeholder’s meeting was held in May 2006, where progress on CCC in California was reviewed and strategies and tactics for the next five years were developed.
